Dunman Secondary School celebrates 45 years of history this year. The school started in Haig Road in 1963 and moved to Tampines New Town Town in 1990. In 2007, Dunman entered its third phase to equip itself with facilities befitting that of an autonomous school. I am indeed privileged to be given the opportunity to head such a fine school and to be involved in the present upgrading which will be fully completed in 2009. Moulding the lives of young people and preparing them to face the challenges of the future is indeed a rewarding experience. Over the years, the school has improved its academic performance markedly with a mean subject grade of 13.9 in 2004, 13.4 in 2005 and 13.2 in 2006 and 11.7 in 2007. Dunman has indeed performed exceedingly well for the 2007 GCE 'O' Level results with 97.1% of students from the express stream qualifying for JC. For the Sec 5 Normal Academic Stream, 40.9% qualified for JC with 92% qualifying for the Poly.
 
 
Dunman Secondary was the proud recipient of the prestigious School Distinction Award in 2007. It was awarded the Sustained Achievement Award for fine Academic Performance over three consecutive years where the school clinched a Gold Value-Added Award for both 2006 and 2007. Over the last few years, the L1B5 (English and 5 Best Subjects) has been improving with 13.9 in 2004, 13.4 in 2005 and 13.2 in 2006. More of our students are qualifying for Junior College. For 2006, 93 % of students qualify for JC with 100% qualifying for the Polytechnic. For the Secondary 5 Normal Academic Stream in 2006, 25% of students qualified for JC and 91% for the Polytechnic. In the 2005 GCE 'O' examinations, 95.3% of its express stream students qualified for Junior College. 100% of students qualified for the Polytechnic. The top Malay pupil in Singapore 2005, Muhd Nabil, with 8A1s and 1A2 hails from Dunman Secondary.

Dunman Secondary School Enviromental website is created by a group of pupils interested in spreading environmental messages to our peers. Through this website, these pupils hope to provide current INFORMATION on environmental issues like climate change, useful TIPS that everyone can do to help save the environment and an INTERACTIVE platform for teens to share their views and ideas on how we can make our earth green again.
