The CG Programme seeks to bring about more self-awareness in Dunmanites with regards to their educational and career goals and aspirations. With this heightened awareness of self, learning and work opportunities, Dunmanites will be more motivated to achieve academic excellence in order to secure and pursue their career goals.

  • For 2005, activities on career profiling were done in the form of the Online System for Careers (OSCAR) for 320 Sec 2 pupils, completed in Terms 2 and 3 in CME periods at Comp Labs and D.I.S.C profiling for 400 Sec 3 pupils by Genecet Education Pte Ltd on 18 Feb during class contact time, 3 weeks before Sec 3 L & T Camp. Each pupil were given a personalised DISC report and teachers were briefed by trainer Mr Jude Arika on 12 Jul 05 on how to use information in the DISC booklet for teaching and communication purposes.
  • Sec 2 pupils were sponsored by the North East CDC to experience the Thumbs Up! Programme conducted by Save The Children Foundation, which also included a D.I.S.C profiling. As a follow - up to the programme, 6 Sec 2 pupils are currently on the Life Coaching Programme which provides personal and academic mentoring Sec 4.
  • Visits to Open Houses for Post-Sec Institutions were also conducted to provide pupils with opportunities to find out more about courses and campus life in the junior colleges, polytechnics and ITE. On 17 Feb and 18 Feb, trips for 120 graduating pupils to NYP, RP and NP were organised. Pupils were also encouraged to visit the TP Open House on their own. 20 pupils were brought to ACSI for IB programme briefing on 2 Jun 2005. Trips to ITE Bishan were also organised on 25 Feb 05 for Sec NT pupils.
  • The annual Experience ITE programme for Sec 2NT was completed on 25 - 26 Apr for 38 pupils ITE MacPherson campus.
  • A new initiative introduced in 2005, the Career Forum, was introduced to bring career awareness to the whole school from Sec 1 to Sec 4. On 20 Apr 2005 during mass assembly, a lawyer, a police officer and a journalist were invited to share their professional experiences and answer queries from the pupils on their careers. The second forum was conducted within the Career Seminar, involving ex-Dunmanites Amrin Amin (Lawyer), Dr Ahmad (Dentist) and an SIA pilot.

  • The annual CG Seminar for graduating pupils was conducted on 2 Jun 2005. Invited speakers from Rotary Club of Marina City, polytechnics, junior colleges and ITE were able to provide information on post-secondary courses to pupils. Included in the Seminar was also a career exhibition by the different institutions.

  • To provide more opportunities for self-discovery among NT students, skills based courses were conducted for them. Visitswere organized for Sec 3J and 4J pupils: Visits to KImage, Nursing Centre in Changi Hospital. 38 pupils from 3J completed the 20 hour BITC Baking Principles course. In 2006, Sec 3I students completed the 20 hour Fundamentals of Nursing Course at ITE.

  • The FLINT programme also exposed Sec 1 and 2 NT pupils to Hairdressing skills, Drama skills and Video-Editing Skills.
