Dunman Interact Club has come a long way in making an impact to help the unfortunate locally and internationally.

‘WATER FOR LIFE’ PROJECT IN CAMBODIA
In December 2008, Interact Club and NCC Air rode on Rotary Club’s ‘Water For Life’ project where Rotary Clubs from Singapore, USA, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Siem Reap and Macau worked hand in hand to help the unfortunate children in Cambodia.

CAMBODIA’S FOLLOW-UP PROJECTS – ‘LIDS FOR LIMBS’

After visiting the Handicap Centre in Cambodia, Dunman Interact Club initiated a 6-month project to mobilize the whole school in collecting tin lids to help the Cambodians who had lost their limbs to land mines. These lids were sent to Malacca to be smelted and made into prosthetic limbs before being shipped to Cambodia by Rotary of Malacca.

INVITATION TO ‘YOUTH VOICE IN SEL SYMPOSIUM’
The club was invited to share our service learning experience in Cambodia at NIE Symposium exhibition ‘Youth Voice in SEL Symposium’ @ NIE auditorium in March.

HELPING NEEDY STUDENTS IN DUNMAN
Interact Club had also been actively raising funds to help the needy students in Dunman. To date, we have raised almost $1000 during Valentine’s Day, Care and Share Day, Mother’s Day and other events. The proceeds had been channelled to Dunman’s needy students’ funds account.

HONE LEADERSHIP SKILLS THROUGH VARIOUS COLLABORATIONS
Students’ leadership skills were honed by collaborating with NE Committee to organise International Friendship Day’s inter-class competition in April. Interactors also participated in joint activities with the Rotaract Club and other sister clubs, and inter-school competitions such as International Understanding Day in River Valley High School and Interact Clubs Conference in ITE Simei.
Dunman Interact Club will continue to embark on more meaningful projects in many years to come and develop great leaders with compassion.
